New Light Bobs 250′ Demo Video

This weekend my gaming partner Mark T. was supposed to come by to do some more advanced playtest on our new version of Light Bob’s. I had an interesting game setup that I found and modified in One Hour Wargames by neal Thomas.
It was about a small force holdoing off a larger one. The larger force that i decided would be a raiding party of Banastre Tarleton was coming down the road and was blocked by two Militia units and good ole Daniel Morgan.
Morgan had to hold off the British for 5 turnes at which time two more Miliatia units would appear. Then two more on turn 10.
I had play tested this twice solo so I thought it would be a good smal level game for us to try. Alas Mark got sick and could not make it. Well i got my GoPro out and spent and hour or so filming the game. Came out reasonably well and I feel it gives a really good insight into the new Second Edition.
I was going a little fast and made a few errors. I think had I had an opponent they would not have happened. Two sets of eyes are always better than one.
Solo Play
I have always said the my games (Day of Battle and Light Bobs) are very good for solo play. The reason being is the fact that it is not an I Go You Go Game. Instead at the start of each game turn there is a round called “First Move Determination” to see which side chooses who goes first. This isn’t just a high die wins rule which frankly why bother? No thereis a random aspect to it but this is heavily modified by Morale and Disorder markers on the units on the table. many time sone side is so beat up that it’s only choise is to draw a joker.
The other reason is the card command system i have developed. You cannot always give commands to every unit you filed. Most games allow that but I feel that is way game and way to little history.
Anyway here are the links. each video is about 35 minutes long. if you find the rules of interst contact me and I will send you out the new QRS sheet. if you are really interested we are looking for play testers as well.
Happy Valentines Day 🙂
