My First Book – The Black Arrow – Historical Version

My First Book – The Black Arrow Historical Version

I just comleted my first book and it is now availble on Amazon in print and Kindle formats.   I have taken one of my favorite books of all times and given it added value.  The book was originally printed in 1888 by Robert Louis Stevenson.  It’s sub title is “A tale of two roses” because it is set in the Wars of the Roses but to me it is a love story as well.

As this is a Public Domain book I can reprint it.

That is all well and good but I wanted to give it somthing new.  First I went through the book and added explanations to words or phrases that todays reader might not under stand.  for example “a salet”  was an open faced helmut in the early 14th century.  Then I added notes and a brief history on the Wars of the Roses and how and where this book could fit in.  Finally I added new Public Domain images from the 18th century.

Let’s not forget the Stevenson was one of the first wargamers playing garden battles with his friend H.G. Wells using 54mm soliders and shooting canons. >>> More here

And a big thanks to my two wonderful editors Ray Estabrook and Russ Lockwood went over it for me.
